Wait List for new books

Have you checked out the binder at the front desk? It’s full of wait lists for new books that we’ve ordered!

Here are three you might want to get your name on the list for!

The new Sue Grafton comes out August 22nd, the new Louise Penny comes out August 29th, and the latest installment of Steig Larsson’s Millennium series comes out September 12th.

 

Operation Gratitude Letters 8/3 2pm

Join us tomorrow, August 3rd, to write letters to our service men and women. The letters will be sent to Operation Gratitude, a non-profit group that distributes the letters to deployed troops, new recruits and veterans of our armed forces. All ages are welcome to participate and we will have some guidelines as well as paper, note cards, pens, pencils and crayons for you to use.

Butterfly Program with T-Shirt Craft 7/27

Join us Thursday at 2pm for an interactive butterfly program. Jerry Schneider aka “The Butterfly Guy” will be at the library to teach us about butterflies and then we’ll get to make some pretty cool t-shirts! PLEASE BRING a white t-shirt for the project.

Capes for Kids 7/20 2pm

Join us tomorrow, July 20th at 2pm to make superhero capes! We’ll be making capes for your kids to take home as well as capes to donate to Capes for Kids, a non-profit project that gives these superhero capes to kids in shelters. We have enough materials for 20 kids to make capes to take home, so be here right at 2pm!

This program is free and open to the public. Materials are limited to the first 20 kids.

Join us tomorrow, 7/13, for the Zoo!

Join us at the library tomorrow, July 13th, at 2pm for our biggest program of the year: The Zoo! Our friend Kat from Wildlife Encounters will be here with a number of cool animals. We’ll get to learn about each of the animals and hold some of them too! Be here early for a good seat!
